So firearms are martial weapons, but rogues miss out by the current rules on martial weapons, instead having a very specific list of proficiencies. Does it make sense to add pistols and maybe revolvers to that? How about investigators?

I think its perfectly reasonable to give rogues and investigators proficiency with early pistols (and maybe revolvers) as that is a close equivalent to hand crossbow in a setting where firearms are commonplace.

Of course the Rogue Talent: Firearms Training will give them proficiency with all firearms, or another option is the Heirloom Weapon & Rich Parents Traits (for a pepperbox pistol or similar).
